I have ridden 24s, not really a fan. But the trail or park is definatly a great bike and the quality is high.

I dont know about the 24s. If you really feel that they are ressisary then go for it, but with the 26s I have the bike feels sooooooo solid and I dont even know how to explain it, but its the best bike I have ever ridden. If weight is your worry, dont let it be, mines all stock except now I got stroker trails on it, but its just under 30 pounds.
